A beautifully restored piece of British design history, this original World War Two CC41 half moon table has been refinished by That Flipping Studio.
Dating from the 1940s, CC41 furniture was produced under the government’s Utility Furniture Scheme, created to provide well-made, functional pieces during wartime austerity. Simple, honest design and quality craftsmanship defines these tables - and this one is no exception.
The original top has been stripped, sanded, stained and finished with a wood oil for protection, bringing warmth, depth, and natural character to the piece while respecting its understated form. The legs have been refinished in a durable matte black, creating a striking contrast that gives the table a contemporary edge without losing its heritage charm.
Designed to sit neatly against a wall, this half moon table works beautifully as a hallway console, occasional table, or understated feature in a living space. Its clean lines and timeless silhouette allow it to blend into both modern and period interiors.
A one-of-a-kind piece, restored with care and ready for its next chapter.
As with all vintage furniture, signs of age may remain and are celebrated as part of its story.
